The 26-year-old right-back went down awkwardly while attempting a challenge, appearing to be in clear discomfort as he remained on the ground. His frustration was evident, as he covered his face with his shirt while receiving medical attention from Liverpool’s staff.

Although he eventually managed to get to his feet, Alexander-Arnold was visibly struggling to walk and took over four minutes to leave the pitch before heading straight down the tunnel at Anfield. His replacement, Jarrell Quansah, came on to see out the rest of the game, which ended 0-1 after extra-time as PSG prevailed 4-1 on penalties.
